Magik went down 3–2 to Coltz in a competitive friendly as both sides continued their preparations ahead of the PPL.
The game was cagey in the opening stages, with both teams settling into the match and neither able to find a breakthrough until deep into the first half.
Magik eventually opened the scoring through Micah, who finished nicely after a lovely through pass from PD. Coltz responded before the break, finding the equaliser to send the teams into half-time at 1–1.
With the game serving as an important practice match, the Magik manager used the second half to experiment with different combinations and give the team a chance to test various setups. Coltz took advantage and moved into a 2–1 lead.
Magik continued to push forward and were rewarded when Devendra produced a clinical finish, anticipating the opportunity brilliantly to bring the score back to 2–2.
Coltz eventually found a winner with virtually the last kick of the game, finishing the friendly 3–2.
While the result went Coltz's way, the match provided Magik with valuable minutes, opportunities to experiment, and plenty of takeaways ahead of the start of the PPL.
“We have to be more clinical. All in all, a good performance,” added the Magik Coach.
